Pamela Ochs-Piasecki - Chief Financial Officer
Pamela Ochs-Piasecki, Chief Financial Officer, has been with MCMC since it was formed in 2002. Ms Ochs-Piasecki oversees the accounting department. In addition she participates in evaluating mergers and acquisitions as well as the executive management of MCMC. Ms. Ochs-Piasecki has extensive financial experience in MCMC’s various lines of business.
Since 1993, Ms. Ochs-Piasecki has served in several finance positions at MCMC and CORE, INC., a predecessor organization to MCMC. Prior to her current position, she served as the Controller, where she prepared month end financial statements, supervised accounts payable and receivable, and assisted in the preparation of annual budgets. From 1998 to 2002, Ms. Ochs-Piasecki was CORE’s Manager of Finance, where she provided budget and financial analysis support for multiple department managers. From 1993 to 1998, she served as CORE’s Controller, where she prepared monthly financial statements and SEC filings, among other duties. Prior to joining CORE, INC., Ms. Ochs-Piasecki was employed at Grant Thornton, a public accounting firm.
Ms. Ochs-Piasecki earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts.
Rich Pappa - Chief Information OfficerRich Pappa, Chief Information Officer, has been with MCMC since 2004. Mr. Pappa manages a group of internal and contract resources handling application development, EDI development, data transformation, database administration, network engineering, helpdesk support, and product management for all aspects of MCMC’s proprietary applications and corporate infrastructure.
Mr. Pappa has worked in the technology arm of the managed care industry for more than 24 years in various roles including owner/CTO of a medical bill review software company, Information Technology management, software engineering and development, technology maintenance, client support, EDI interface solutions, and long term product development. Mr. Pappa has extensive technology experience in MCMC’s various lines of business and plays an integral role in the technological direction and software application future of MCMC.
Mr. Pappa earned a Computer Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Computer Technical Institute.
Lisa Scaggs-Oskoui - Executive Vice PresidentLisa Scaggs-Oskoui, Executive Vice President, has been with MCMC since January, 2011. Ms. Oskoui manages the Integrated Service Division, Peer Division, Network Development Division, and Technology Department, and is also responsible for Business Development.
For more than 20 years Ms. Oskoui has been selling managed care services including Independent Peer Review, Medical Bill Review, Independent Medical Examination, Integrated Services, Investigative Services, Preferred Provider Networks and Pharmacy Benefit Management to regional and national accounts. In addition, Ms. Oskoui has extensive experience in Network Development, Project Management, and Operations.
Ms. Oskoui earned a Master of Business Administration from Capital University, a Master of Science in Agency Administration from University of Dayton, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ohio State University and Doctoral Studies in Organizational Behavior (ABD). Ms. Oskoui holds the following industry designations: Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Case Manager, and Certified Disability Management Specialist.
Larry Brinton, Jr. - Senior Vice President, Medical Bill ReviewLarry Brinton, Senior Vice President of Medical Bill Review Sales, has been with MCMC since 2005. Mr. Brinton manages the Medical Bill Review Sales team.
Mr. Brinton has more than 21 years of experience in the managed care services industry in various roles including Sales, Management and Account Management. In addition Mr. Brinton has extensive experience in Governmental/Regulatory Compliance (Workers’ Compensation / State Regulations), Claims Management, Medical Bill Review and PPO Development. He was the Director of Workers’ Compensation for the Tennessee Department of Labor from 1992-1995 and was President of Medical Bill Audits from 1998-2005 and also President of Prime Health Services from 2001 – 2007.
Mr. Brinton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the Nashville School of Law.
Brenda Calia - Senior Vice President, Integrated ServicesBrenda Calia, Senior Vice President of Integrated Services, has been with MCMC since 2004. Ms. Calia manages the Integrated Services division which provides a range of managed care services, including Call Center/ First Report of Injury, Case Management, Utilization Review, and Medicare Set-Asides to clients regionally and nationally.
Ms. Calia has more than 25 years of experience in the managed care services industry in various roles including Co-founder of CareSys, Business and Product Development, Program Implementations and Operations Management. In addition Ms. Calia has extensive experience in working with physicians to develop protocols and databases, as well as experience in Financial Services.
Ms. Calia earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health Planning and Administration from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s Degree in Health Service Administration from George Washington University.
B.J. Dougherty - Senior Vice President, Medical Bill ReviewB.J. Dougherty, Senior Vice President of Medical Bill Review Services, has been with MCMC since 2004. Mr. Dougherty manages and oversees MCMC’s Medical Bill Review Services division.
Mr. Dougherty has more than 20 years’ experience in the managed care services industry in various roles including Co-founder of Solutions4, Management of Bill Processing Operations, and Account Management. In addition Mr. Dougherty has extensive experience in Sales and Development for a multitude of managed care products within multiple lines of insurance including Group Health, Workers’ Compensation, Auto, Longshore, Liability and Disability.
Mr. Dougherty earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus on Business from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mark Laffey - Senior Vice President, Medical Bill ReviewMark Laffey, Senior Vice President, Medical Bill Review Sales, has been with MCMC since 2004. Mr. Laffey manages business development within the Medical Bill Review division.
Mr. Laffey started in the business as a Claims representative and handled claims for 6 years. He has more than 16 years’ experience in the managed care services industry in various positions including Co-founder of Solutions4, National Sales, Client Integration, Sales Management, Marketing Management and Claims Management.
Mr. Laffey earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University.
Steve Mazefsky - Senior Vice President, Litigation SolutionsSteve Mazefsky, Senior Vice President, Litigation Solutions, has been with MCMC since 2007. Mr. Mazefsky manages operations, business development and account management for Litigation Solutions, LLC’s products and services.
Mr. Mazefsky has more than 21 years’ experience in the insurance cost containment industry in various positions including Sales Management, Business Development, Client Management, and Customer Service. Mr. Mazefsky has extensive experience in selling Independent Medical Exams, Medical Bill Review Services, Peer Review Services, Litigation Support Services, and Investigative Services.
Mr. Mazefsky earned a Bachelor of Science in International Politics from the University of Pittsburgh.
Stephen Junker - Vice President, Customer Service and ImplementationsStephen Junker, Vice President for Customer Service and Implementations, is responsible for overseeing coordination of client and internal projects, with a primary focus of serving as a liaison between clients, operations, sales, and technology concerns. In addition, Mr. Junker manages a group that focuses on reporting, data mining, and analytics. He has been with MCMC since 2005.
For nearly 15 years, Mr. Junker has been involved in system development, technology management, customer service, and implementations for medical bill review, PPO processing, panel management, case management, investigative services, medical record procurement, document management, and enterprise reporting.
Mr. Junker holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Pennsylvania State University, and a Master’s Degree from Duquesne University.
Paul J. Lanning - Senior Vice President, Peer ReviewPaul Lanning, Vice President of Sales for the Peer Review division, has been with MCMC since 2004. Mr. Lanning oversees and ensures that MCMC meets or exceeds all Peer Review revenue targets. Mr. Lanning is responsible for the creation, oversight, and execution of sales strategies, tactics, and goals, which have been developed in compliance and alignment with MCMC’s strategic direction.
Mr. Lanning has more than 15 years’ experience in the managed care services industry in various roles including Sales Management, Business Development and Account Management.
Mr. Lanning earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
Paul Gilleece - Vice President, Independent Peer ReviewPaul Gilleece, Vice President of Independent Peer Review, has been with MCMC since 2002. Mr. Gilleece manages the Independent Peer Review division overseeing the day to day operations Independent Peer Review projects/accounts. In addition, Mr. Gilleece is responsible for URAC accreditation and compliance as well as providing clinical oversight to the Quality Assurance process and serving on MCMC’s Reviewer Credentialing Committee.
Mr. Gilleece also develops strategies regarding tracking, trending, and improving audit and complaint data and for the development, adherence and revision of performance standards, thresholds, action plans, and follow-up mechanisms for quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
Mr. Gilleece has been a Registered Nurse for more than 17 years.
Brian Roberts - Vice President, Information TechnologyBrian Roberts, Vice President of Information Technology, has been with MCMC since 2004. Mr. Roberts manages the Information Technology department, mentoring IT management staff and developing IT leaders to allow the MCMC Information Technology department the stability and scalability to succeed in today’s IT centric business world.
Mr. Roberts has more than 15 years of Information Technology experience in the healthcare insurance environment in various positions including Management, Technical Support, and Client Support. Mr. Roberts has extensive technology experience in MCMC’s various service lines.
Mr. Roberts attended the University of Pittsburgh prior to venturing into the private sector to help build a startup Medical Bill Review Software company. Mr. Roberts holds the following industry designations: certified Microsoft Network Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and Certified Citrix Administrator.
Bob Watters - Vice President, MarketingBob Watters, Vice President of Marketing, has been with MCMC since 2010. Mr. Watters manages MCMC’s marketing efforts.
Mr. Watters has been working in the managed care services industry for more than 24 years. Mr. Watters has sold a number of products and services including managed care services and Third Party Administration to national, regional and local accounts through multiple lines of insurance. He has been part of three national managed care companies assisting in taking local and regional companies into the national market and expanding service delivery, while growing their national marketing campaigns.
Mr. Watters received his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Communications from Southern Methodist University and the University of Arizona.
